  • Corrections to Refuse Schedule Handouts
    The following days are incorrect in the Village of Cayuga Heights Refuse Schedule handouts:
    - October 14th recycling will be collected on the 13th
    - November 11th recycling will be collected on the 10th
    - January 20th recycling will be collected on the 19th
  • Water Bills Are Due
    The third quarter period of May - July water bills should have arrived in your mailbox and are due no later than Monday, August 21st.  There is a secure drop box located just outside the main entrance if you would like to drop your payment off after hours.  If you have not received your water bill or have any questions, please feel free to contact our office at 607-257-1238 or Bolton Point at 607-277-0660.     The Board of Trustees will discuss changes to our zoning law during the summer Board meetings. We have flipped the order of the Articles we are considering since two Board members will be absent for the July meeting and the entire Board will be present for the August meeting. The July meeting will look at Administration and Enforcement, Site Plan Review, Subdivisions, Special Use Permits, and the Zoning Board of Appeals. In August
    they will discuss the different zones and the allowed uses in each zone (Articles 2-9). This will include short-term rentals. Residents may comment on any of these topics during "Privilege of the Floor" or send comments to info@cayuga-heights.ny.us. Public hearings will begin at the September Board of Trustees meeting.   • Short Term Rentals Clarification
    Discussions during “Privilege of the Floor” at the May 15th Board of Trustees meeting indicated that there are misconceptions concerning the legality of short-term rentals in the Village.  Both an understanding of the Village’s current Zoning Ordinance and ongoing discussion of the proposed changes are necessary before the revisions are finalized.   • Marcham Hall Closed Due to Pavement Project
    The clerks office located on 836 Hanshaw Road will be closed on Tuesday, May 2 due to a paving project. All water bills can be mailed or placed in the drop-off box located just outside the main entrance.

    The Village of Cayuga Heights is updating their Zoning Law Ordinance. These revisions have been in the works for the past two years by the Zoning Review Committee.   • Village of Cayuga Heights Zoning Law Revision
    The Village of Cayuga Heights is updating their Zoning Law Ordinance. These revisions have been in the works for the past two years by the Zoning Review Committee and are now before the Planning Board for their comments. The Planning Board will continue reviewing the current draft at their next meeting on Monday, April 24th at 7 PM. When the Planning Board is done, the Board of Trustees will hold one or more public hearings before voting on these changes. Click here to view the current draft of the Zoning Law Revision.
  • Spring Leaf Pickup
    We will not be doing spring leaf curbside pickup this year. Leaves can be picked up during regular brush pick up in containers (no plastic bags). Please refer to our brush and leaf pickup rules and regulations on the household and yard refuse webpage.

  • Curbside Recycling Delayed Till Saturday
    Due to severe weather conditions, curbside recycling collection has been delayed a day. The Village's recycling will now be collected on Saturday, March 18th. Thursday's regular refuse pick-up and Friday's bulky trash will still be collected on schedule. Thank you for your cooperation.

  • 2017 Village Election
    The Village of Cayuga Heights Mayor and four candidates for Village Board seats are running unopposed in the March 21, 2017 election. The Village election will take place at Kendal at Ithaca from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. There will be signs directing voters to the south entrance of Kendal. March 10th will be the last day to register to vote.  Voting registrations and absentee ballot applications can be found at Marcham Hall or at the Tompkins County Board of Election.  Click here for the sample ballot

  • Tompkins County Seeking Applications for Newly Created Energy Task Force
    On January 3rd, the Tompkins County Legislature, by unanimous vote, established the Tompkins County Energy Task Force. The new Task Force is charged with providing input and guidance to the County Planning Department and the Legislature on the topics of energy, climate change, and energy-related economic development, and will be availalbe to provide advice to other community groups on these topics.
