  • August Water Bills
    August water/sewer bills will be mailed in early August and are due no later than Tuesday August 20th in order to be considered on time. Water payments (with account number written on the memo line) may be mailed to 836 Hanshaw Road or dropped in the secure drop box located outside the main entrance of Marcham Hall. Online payments may also be made with a minimal service charge. Please visit our water and sewer page to pay online. If you have not received your water bill or have any questions, please feel free to contact our office at 607-257-1238 or Bolton Point at 607-277-0660. You may also find anserws to some frequesnly asked questions here.
  • Village Taxes
    Village tax bills were sent in early June and were due no later than July 1st for payments to be considered on-time. If you are paying your taxes after July 1, please be sure to pay the penalty amount listed on your bill. Taxes are payable online (service fee included) or by check, The Village will accept payments, with penalty, until October 31st. Payments after October 31st must be paid directly to Tompkins County Finance at 125 East Court Street, Ithaca, NY 14850. More>>

  • VILLAGE AWARDED "SAFE ROUTE TO SCHOOL" GRANT FROM NEW YORK STATE
    On April 24th, Governor Cuomo announced $6.5 million in funding to support transportation enhancements in the Southern Tier, including $535,000 to the Village of Cayuga Heights for the Walking Safe pedestrian accessibility enhancement program.     Second quarter water bills will be sent during the first week of May. Water bills are due by Monday, May 20th.   • Trash Tag Rate Increase
    For the first time in 25 years, the cost of trash tags will be increasing on June 1. The new rate will be $18/sheet of 12 tags. The Clerk's office can accept cash, checks or credit card payments (with a service fee) and is open Monday-Friday 9 AM to 4:30 PM.

  • Arbor Day at The Cayuga Heights Elementary School
    Please join Andre Bensadoun, our Village Forester, to celebrate Arbor Day at The Cayuga Heights Elementary School on April 26th at 1:00 PM. Our Mayor Linda Woodard, the School Principal Brad Pollack and other local leaders will join the ceremony. A Cornelian Cherry tree, donated by David Fernandez from Cayuga Lanscape, will be planted.     Just a friendly reminder to pay your water and sewer bill if you have not yet done so. Water bills were sent out at the beginning of February and were due February 20th. You may pay your bill online by going to the For Residents tab, scrolling down to Water & Sewer and then clicking the Pay Water Bills Online icon.   • Village Recognized as a 2018 Tree City USA
    The Arbor Day Foundation has named the Village of Cayuga Heights a 2018 Tree City USA in honor of its commitment to effective urban forest management. The Village achieved this recognition by meeting the program's four requirements: a tree board or department, a tree care ordinance, an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita, and an Arbor Day observance and proclamation.

  • Sunset Park Grant
    The Village of Cayuga Heights was awarded a $5,000 grant from the Tompkins County Towns and Villages Parks and Trails Grant Program. The grant will be used for enhancement and restoration of Sunset Park.

  • Natural Gas Safety Inspections in the Village
    NYSEG and Avangrid DDS will be conducting natural gas safety inspections in Village residences Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. though 4:00 p.m. during the upcoming months and into 2020. Avangrid employees have registered with CHPD, drive labeled white trucks and will have proper identification. All residents known to receive natural gas service should expect a visit from an Avangrid employee to check for any potential gas pipe replacement needs.

  • Upcoming Village Election
    The 2019 Village election will be held on Tuesday, March 19th at Kendal at Ithaca 2230 North Triphammer Road in Ithaca. Polls are open noon to 9 p.m. on the 19th. Offices to be filled include three trustee positions for a two year term. March 8th is the last day for voters to register with the Board of Elections to vote in the Village election. March 12th is the last day for the BOE to receive applications for an absentee ballot to be mailed to a voter. March 18th is the last day for an applicant (or their agent) to personally deliver applications for an absentee ballot to the BOE.

  • January Reminders
    The Department of Public Works will be travelling throughout the Village to pick up Christmas trees and wreaths starting the second week of the new year. Please place your tree curbside
    and be sure to remove all decorations. Village Hall will be closed on Monday, January 21st in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
  • "Making the Village" A Talk by Bea Szekely, Village Historian
    On Wednesday, January 16th at 7:00 P.M. at Kendal at Ithaca auditorium, Bea will talk about key figures in the early history of Cayuga Heights.
    Included will be landscape architects Harold Caparn and Warren Manning, who made the village a prime example of the American garden suburb; civil engineers from the Crandall family in Ithaca, who were largely responsible for making and maintaining the physical infrastructure over the course of decades; Cornell Law Professor C. Tracey Stagg, who played a leading role with developer Jared Newman in founding the village government; and Martha Hitchcock, the much revered first priccipal of the Cayuga Heights School. The event is free and open to the public. Please join us!

  • Village Hall Closed Friday, December 14th 12:00pm-2:00pm
    Village Hall will be closed Friday, December 14th from 12:00pm to 2:00pm for the annual holiday party.
  • Short Term Rental Permits
    The Village of Cayuga Heights adopted Local Law 2018-1 for short term rentals within the Village which was effective as of February 9th, 2018. This law established Village regulations for the rental of dwellings for periods of twenty-eight (28) days or less. Short term rental permit renewals are due January 1st. Applications, sample logs, and fire safety checklists can be found on our website. Logs from guest stays must also be returned to the Village Clerks office either by email, mail or dropped off in person. As a reminder, anyone who plans to rent out their home, even if only for graduation weekend, must obtain a premit through the Village.   • Holiday Refuse and Recycling Schedule
    Village Hall will be closed Tuesday, December 25th in observance of Christmas and again on Tuesday, January 1st for New Year's Day. Refuse pickups for both Tuesdays will take place on the following Wednesdays (December 26th and January 2nd). Refuse pickups scheduled for Thursday, December 27th and January 3rd will not be affected by the holidays. The recycling scheduled for Friday, January 4th will happen on Saturday, January 5th.
  • Water and Sewer Rate Changes
    Water and sewer rates are going up on January 1, 2019. The new rate will be $10.32 per 1,000 gallons, an increase of 3.2%. The minimum bill will be $51.60 a quarter.

  • Remembering Jack Rogers, Village Engineer
    John B ("Jack") Rogers III passed away on November 6, 2018 at age 94. From 1962 until 1994, in addition to appointment on the faculty of civil engineering department at Cornell University, he served as the superintendent of public works for the Village of Cayuga Heights.

  • Major Construction on N. Triphammer Road
    Plan your route and be prepared! North Triphammer Road will have delays between Sheraton Drive and Hanshaw Road starting Monday, April 30th. The tentative end date is set for May 17th.

  • Spring Leaf Pickup
    Unlike the Fall, there is no spring leaf curbside pickup so please DO NOT rake leaves to the side of the curb.  Instead, leaves in containers (no plastic bags!) will be picked up during regular brush pick up.  The next brush pickup is scheduled for Friday, May 4th.  Please refer to our brush and leaf pickup rules and regulations on the household and yard refuse webpage for more information.

    Jan 8 - A water main break on Triphammer Rd will will affect water usage for properties from Oak Hill to Jessup Rd. The water main should be fixed by the end of the day.
