  • Refuse and Recycling Collection During the Holidays
    Village Hall will be closed Monday, December 26th and Monday, January 2nd in observance to the holidays and New Years Day.  Please keep in mind that the Friday, January 6th recycling pick up day has been moved.  All recycling will be collected on Saturday, January 7th.  Your regular Tuesday and Thursday refuse collection days will not be affected this holiday season. 
  • Food Scraps Recycling Holiday Schedule
    The Village of Cayuga Heights Food Scraps Recycling Drop-Off Center will be closed December 25th, but will be open December 26th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.  The Center will also be closed January 1st, but will be open January 2nd from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

  • New Village Truck
    Ready for winter?  We are!  The Department of Public Works recently bought a used 2001 Ford 450 Super Duty Truck from the Town of Lansing and it is ready to be put to work!  This powerhouse pickup truck will be used to assist in garbage pickup and snow removal.

  • Meet Our New Assistant Superintendent of Public Works
    The Village of Cayuga Heights are pleased to introduce Mr. Michael Wiese, who took the position of Superintendent of Public Works on Monday, November 7th. More>>
  • Village Hall Closed Thanksgiving Day
    The Village Hall will be closed Thursday, November 24th in observance of Thanksgiving Day.  Office hours will resume the following day.  Refuse and recycling collection will be affected by this holiday.  If your normal refuse collection is on Thursday, it will be collected on Friday, November 25th.  All recycling will be collected on Saturday, November 26th.
  • Village Hall Closed Veterans Day
    Village Hall will be closed Friday, November 11th in observance of Veterans Day.  Refuse collection is not affected by the holiday.
  • Cops, Kids & Toys
    We are now collecting toys to be distributed to financially disadvantaged children across Tompkins County for the Holidays until December 5th. More>>

  • Village Hall Closed Columbus Day
    Village Hall will be closed October 10th in observance to Columbus Day. Refuse collection is not affected by this holiday.
  • Water Meter Upgrade Project - October Update
    Water meter replacements are now underway. See answers to some commonly asked questions here.
  • CHFD Open house: October 1
    The Annual CHFD Open House will be held on Saturday, October 1st from 11am - 2pm. Come visit your all-volunteer, neighborhood fire department to see and experience what they do. For more information vist the CHFD webpage.

    Brush pruning will take place October 15th thru December 15th, which is the same time as fall leaf collection. For more information visit the Household and Refuse webpage.

    Traffic will be restricted to the use of one lane only for southbound traffic while northbound traffic will be detoured from Winthrop Dr. to Sheraton Dr. More>>

    Village Hall will be closed on September 5th in observance to Labor Day. Refuse collection is not affected by this holiday.
  • Now Recruiting Volunteer Firefighters and EMTs
    The Cayuga Heights Fire Department is currently seeking dedicated volunteer firefighters and EMTs.  No prior experience is necessary!  An information dinner will be held on September 22nd at 7pm.  Email membership@chfd.net to RSVP and to provide us with your contact information.  We will send further details upon hearing from you.  Please include your local address and some basic information about yourself in your email.
