We Have a New Truck!
Meet the newest addition to the Village Fleet. Its a 2016 Mack Dump Truck, 6-wheeled with a built in salt spreader and with plow and wing. This is the Villages first vehicle with clean burn technology. There is an exhaust chamber that sprays Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) into the exhaust stream to break down dangerous NOx emissions into harmless nitrogen and water. Its a non-hazardous solution which helps the truck achieve better fuel efficiency than ever before. The truck can be used for snow plowing, leaf and bulky trash pick-up, hauling gravel, hauling asphalt, and various other village work.
The DPW facility is located at 123 Sheldon Road, where the fleet of equipment is stored and maintained by the staff. The current fleet includes:
(3) large dump trucks with snow plow/wing;
(2) small flat bed/dump trucks;
(1) inbetween plow trucks;
(2) pick-up trucks;
and many other specialty type machinery.
If you have any questions or need the assistance of the DPW, you can reach them phone at 607-257-6166.
