Celebrating Another Wonderful Year

On Friday March 15th all departments that are employed by the Village gathered at the Fire Hall to celebrate a job well done. This spring staff appreciation lunch was graciously provided by Mayor Woodard. Of course despite the beautiful early spring weather we have had lately, Friday turned out to be dreary but that did not prevent us from celebrating.

After lunch the Mayor presented longevity certificates, to be awarded to employees who have reached milestone years. Below is a picture of Brent Cross, village engineer and code enforcement officer, receiving his 30 year award from Mayor Woodard. A number of awards were handed out, speaking to the low level of turn over for this municipality.

Along with longevity awards, we were able to honor several individuals who retired recently or will be retiring soon. From the DPW crew Daniel (Pete) Potter retired last December, Ralph Newhart retired last August and Tim Eighmey will be retiring this June. Trustee Jim Marshal is also retiring from his position. Below is a picture of some of these men holding up the cake.

Our long time Village Justice Glen Galbreath and his Court Clerk Pat Kannus will both be retiring this year. They have been with the village for 30 years. We are sad to see them leave but are happy for them in their retirement. Glen has been a very gracious Judge as anyone who has had to appear before him will testify to, he will be missed.
